I had so many awesome and hilarious suggestions from you guys (thank-you ),  I’ve had a hard time picking just one song to cover. After extreme deliberation I came to a decision which will be unveiled for your listening and viewing pleasure soon so stay tuned!

This coming Thursday May 17th I have something really cool happening too. I’ll be playing the Cornerhouse live on 102.7 Whistle Radio. Meaning I’ll be answering questions and playing songs to a live audience on air for a couple of hours..(YES! HOURS!) This month I’m also playing as a headliner for the Tin Pan North Songwriter’s Festival May 24th 7:30 at the Black Swan in Toronto. It’s going to be a great night of songs and the stories behind them. Tin Pan North is a 3 day festival of songwriter rounds and there are some really great headliners showcasing their songs on the alternate days as well including: Victoria Banks and Charlie Major. It’s definitely going to be something to see if you’re interested in hearing about the origins of the tunes you listen to on the radio everyday. Hey guys!

So..the past month was a whirlwind for me!! I can’t even begin to describe how much fun I had over the course of March

#1 fun thing that happened to me in March: I opened for Emerson Drive!! Yes, I said it… and it’s true! : ) March 15th I was asked to be the opening act for Emerson Drive at the Whitby Class Act Dinner Theatre.
It was so surreal opening for them because back when I was in high school on my very first trip to Nashville I saw my very first live music show (so many firsts !) and oddly enough it was Emerson Drive. While I watched the guys play in Nashville, I remember thinking to myself how cool it would be to walk in their shoes one day and I wished so much that I could have a chance to play on a stage like the one they were playing on that night. Sure enough, years later there I was sitting in my dressing room warming up my voice and curling my hair getting ready to open for them. One word can describe how good it felt.. AWESOME! Haha. Once I got on stage the crowd was amazing and I felt happier than ever. I’m still glowing and basking in how amazing the day was (haha!) so that’s why opening for Emerson Drive is my #1 top moment of March.

# 2 fun thing that happened to me this month – PHOTO SHOOT! I met up with a fantastic photographer, shot a few locations in a cool wardrobe and I cannot wait to show you guys the finished product! The photographer Samit, was absolutely phenomenal so I’ll put his link after this blurb so you guys can check out his work before you see what he’s done for me: )!

On top of having a great photographer.. I had my hair and makeup done as well.. which was, let me tell you haha, a treat in itself. If I had the funds to hire someone to do my hair and makeup everyday… trust me when I say ..there would be no stopping me haha. The entire hair/makeup experience was great the only part I didn’t enjoy was changing wardrobe in a space smaller than a bathroom stall . Between me and suitcase filled with wardrobe ..moving was near impossible!! That being said though, the experience was awesome and well worth squeezing into a tiny nook to change my clothes. : )

#3 awesome thing that happened to me this month- Canadian Music Week . It was my first time playing CMW with my band and to say the least.. it was a blast!!

I played the Wednesday night  ( The first night of CMW) at the El mocambo in Toronto alongside a lineup of incredibly talented bands and I think everyone who came out that night would agree that it was a great success and a good place to be to kick off the week!

I had played CMW twice previously but every year it gets topped and it’s a little bit more fun the last time. Truthfully I can’t wait to plow through the next year so I can hop back on stage again at Canadian Music Week soon haha! If you guys have never been, you’re missing out and you HAVE to go next year!!

Those were the highlights of last month and we’re already a week into April. Time is flying these days but I’m hanging on and enjoying the ride as much as I can.

Spring is here and the months ahead are going to be some of the craziest yet. Keep checking back for the latest and greatest moments of each month! : )
